Productize Yourself: 3 Lessons from Seven-Figure Designjoy Founder And Solopreneur
3 lessons from @BrettFromDJ on his 7-figure business of one.
Brett Williams @ Designjoy has made $3M over the last six years by productizing himself. That’s an average of ~$500K/year. He’s now at $1M/year. Ridiculous margins, zero employees, and total freedom. His path may not be sustainable, but it’s an option to accelerate financial independence. Even if you shut down the business after five years, it’s a path you control. Here are three lessons from his journey that you can apply to productize yourself.
💰 #1 Raise Your Prices: He charges clients $5K per month for his services. Membership or subscription is key. He has 40-50 active clients at a given time and works with 10-15 clients daily. You don’t have to work as hard as he does, but he’s shown what’s possible.
📋 #2 Standardize Your Offer: There are no custom packages or special pricing. Instead, there’s a standard service list and a request queue. Each client gets one request at a time, with unlimited monthly requests.
🛑 #3 Stop The Meetings: He has three sales calls per day. He has no other meetings. This frees up his calendar to focus on delivery. Async work is a huge lever for a business of one.
